1) Completed MSW from Bangalore University
2) Pioneered India’s 1st Child Protection Helpline called *Makkala Sahaya Vani, in the Bangalore Police Commissioner’s Office in 1997. Headed the same till 2006. *MSV has a mention in the UNDOC report of 2002 for enhancing child-friendly police.
3) Pioneered & formulated the Training Module for Gender Sensitive-People Friendly Police, supported by UNICEF, this is included as Syllabus in Karnataka Police Training Academies, which found a mention in the India’s 2004 CEDAW Report
4) Brinda was awarded the Ford Motor Company Fellowship, completed a certificate course at SIPU, Columbia University, NY on Community Leadership & Advocacy
5) Brinda coordinated Safer Cities Free From Violence on Women & Children, with reference to Legal Aid, Access to Justice, Victim Compensation & Witness Protection, supported by Hanns Seidel Foundation, an arm of the Bavarian Parliament.
